Poster Session

Youth-focused Projects | 8:45 - 9:30 p.m. | Ice Cream Social
We added the Poster Sessions, a casual yet informative way to do a little “Prevention Project Show and Tell”, to the Networking Soirée and Ice Cream Social. This is also an excellent time to gather ideas about prevention projects that have been successful in other communities. The posters will be moved to Lobby 1 for Friday viewing.

Professional Networking Soirée
7:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see your colleagues from across the state and enjoy some light refreshments. Discover new partnerships with some of the field’s most seasoned professionals. The Networking Soirée is hosted with support the Prevention Specialist Certification Board of Washington.
Team Building Session
7:30 – 8:45 p.m.
Youth will begin the Summit with this challenging program sponsored by the Western Regional Counterdrug Training Center where adults and youth share in the exhilaration of building stronger teams and enhancing friendships. This will enable the youth teams to function better together as they develop and implement their local youth projects.
Ice Cream Social
8:45 – 9:30 p.m.
You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream! Come meet new friends and enjoy some sweet ice cream treats and karaoke with DJ Riceman!

How to Become a Certified Prevention Professional Information Session
12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
Don’t miss the opportunity to learn the criteria and process for gaining or maintaining your Prevention Professional certification. This session will take place
during lunch on Friday. Grab your food and head to the meeting location.
State Prevention Rally

Let’s RALLY together! Dream, Lead, Achieve! Can we do it?
Yes we can! During these hard economic times, it’s important
to learn and understand the issues that the Prevention field
is currently facing. Advocacy, what is it? And what role can I
have? WASAVP will provide an overview of what people can do
and issues to pay attention to in the near future. Together we
can make a significant impact. It’s time to rally together and
challenge each other! Come one, come all!

Basketball, Dance Dance Revolution, foosball, pool, ping
pong, air hockey, and two new Wii stations! Please signup at
registration desk to attend YMCA activities and meet in Lobby
2 near Suite 400 in the hallway. Escorts will be available to walk
groups to/from the YMCA.
Native American Storytelling
7:15 – 8:15 p.m.
Levina has been recognized as the Washington State Indian Education Association “Elder of the Year” for her contributions in education and preservation of the Sahaptin language. In her stories, she shares what she has learned from her elders in her life.
ZUMBA! Come Learn this Latin Style Dance
7:15 – 8:15 p.m.
Back by popular demand! A fusion of Latin and International music that creates a dynamic, exciting and effective aerobic fitness party without feeling like a workout. This class will blow you away! Learn meringue, salsa, samba, flamenco, and more in a fun packed easy to learn choreographed class.
Halloween Dress, Crafts and Games
8:15 – 10:30 p.m.
Use this time to decorate yourself for Halloween. We’ll have crafts to make necklaces or bracelets in fall colors, bling string for your hair, glow-in-the-dark paint, Halloween stencils, and face paint. You can also spend some time playing games or just hanging out with friends!
Conversation Café
7:15 – 10:30 p.m.
Join us for this casual and relaxing opportunity to dialogue with other professionals in the field. This space is being made available as an open invitation for networking time and to deepen your learning through reflection with others.
Dance – Dance – Dance!
8:15 – 10:30 p.m.
After a long day of learning, you deserve a dance break! Join DJ Riceman to end the day with the latest music and exciting show full of black lights, bubbles and glow in the dark necklaces! What a great way to end a long and fun-filled day. Yummy popcorn and a surprise movie!
