Prevention Summit

The goal of the Prevention Summit is to provide an enriching and culturally competent training and networking opportunity for youth, volunteers and professionals working toward the prevention of substance abuse, violence and other destructive behaviors as well as integrating such prevention efforts with primary health care.

Thank you for your interest in participating in the 29th annual Washington State Prevention Summit. As our goal indicates, the Committee would like to provide opportunities for all participants, including volunteers. Volunteers are very important to us, and to the success of the conference!

Follow these steps to apply:

  2. Step 2: Complete a Background Check Form, if necessary
  3. Step 3: Complete an online application (application period has ended)

 

Step 1: Please read the below information before completing the Volunteer Interest Application

Volunteer Perks

• Discounted conference registration (valued at more than $200)

• Conference meals and beverages (valued at more than $75)

• Participation with colleagues and community leaders

• Access to more than 20 workshops and keynote presentations

**Lodging and travel are not included. Please see the Logistics Page for hotel accomodations and travel information.

Mandatory Volunteer Meeting

• Thursday, October 10: Conference Call Time 1:00pm

• Sunday, October 20: On-site Meeting - Time will be determined based on volunteer group availability and registration schedule.

• Please attend one of the meetings offered; either in advance by conference call, or onsite the day before.

Important Information and Guidelines

• Volunteers will be charged a discounted conference registration rate of $50.00.

• We ask that all volunteers please attend one of the above scheduled volunteer meetings for updates and information about this year's conference.

• Unfortunately, if you are an adult advisor or team chaperone, you may NOT apply to be a volunteer. We thank you for your devotion to your youth teams!

• We ask that all volunteers please try to commit to 8 or more hours. You will have the opportunity to sign up for shifts closer to the conference. You may also be assigned to particular shifts based on the availability indicated in your form.

• We make every attempt to match volunteers with the desired workshops and keynote sessions indicated, but we cannot guarantee a match.

• Due to youth participation in the Summit, volunteers must complete and submit a Background Check Form, unless you have completed one for the Summit in previous years.

• Volunteers will be notified of their acceptance in the beginning of October, after background checks have been processed. We appreciate your interest and commitment.

• Once accepted, volunteers will receive a confirmation with a coupon code to register online at the discounted price of $50.

• Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.


Step 2: Complete the Background Check Form and save it to your computer.

***You may skip this step if you have comepleted a background check for the Summit in previous years.

• Due to youth participation in the Summit, volunteers must complete and submit a Background Check Form, unless you have completed one for the Summit in previous years.

 


Step 3: Follow the link below to complete the Online Volunteer Interest Application. You will be asked to upload your completed Background Check Form within the application.

Prevention Summit
