- Presenter Description: Mr. Shavel has extensive experience in the substance abuse prevention field at the community, state and federal levels as a community organizer, coalition director, trainer and technical assistance provider, researcher, and State Prevention Manager. Mr. Shavel specializes in technical assistance and training in all areas of the Strategic Prevention Framework. Mr. Shavel currently works with CADCA’s National Coalition Institute to provide training and technical assistance to increase the capacity of community coalitions throughout the nation.

- Presenter Description: Jim is co-founder and lead trainer for ACTUALITY and co-owner of Red Truck LLC, a training, consulting and management company. Jim spent 30 years in clinical practice and as student assistance director in Fort Collins. He is a board member of the National Student Assistance Association, an advisor to the boards of TEAM Fort Collins and the Boys and Girls Club and serves as faculty consultant to the School of Social Work at Colorado State.
Victor Colman, Uncommon Solutions Policy Development: Moving from Theory to Action
Presenter Description: Victor Colman earned a BA from Michigan State University and a JD from University of San Francisco. He worked in the human services field for over 26 years, initially in California for non-profits and county governments. His focus was primary prevention and policy solutions. In Washington State he was a policy advisor at the State Department of Health for eight years. Currently President of Uncommon Solutions, Inc., a public policy consultant firm based in Olympia.
